Coach Miguel is from Venezuela and brings a lot of passion and experience to Diamond Standard Baseball. He played mainly as a shortstop, but also at other positions, and has proudly represented his state five times.
He has coached youth and adult teams, winning multiple championships. Miguel is outgoing, positive, and competitive, with a winning mindset and a strong desire to keep learning every day. He loves teaching the game and helping players grow while having fun on the field.
When he’s not at the ballpark, Miguel enjoys watching sports—especially baseball and soccer—and loves a good barbecue. He can’t wait to share his energy and love for the game with the campers this summer!
Miguel is a 19-year-old athlete from Venezuela with a lifelong passion for baseball. Growing up in a family where the sport has always been a central part of life, Miguel developed a love for the game at an early age and has dedicated himself to playing and improving ever since. Baseball is not only his favourite sport but also a major part of his daily life, whether he is training, watching games, or attending live events. Outside of baseball, Miguel enjoys staying active through other sports and even sports video games, always finding ways to stay connected to competition and teamwork.
Throughout his career in Venezuela, Miguel has built an impressive record of achievement. He was a two-time state champion with his city team in both the U9 and U16 divisions and earned regular-season performance awards in the U13 and U15 state leagues. He also led his league in home runs in the U16 category and represented his state in two national tournaments at the U9 and U16 levels.
In addition to playing, Miguel has developed valuable coaching and leadership experience. He has served as an assistant coach and physical trainer for athletes between the ages of 10 and 15, helping young players improve their skills, fitness, and confidence. His background as both a competitor and mentor allows him to connect with players and support their growth both on and off the field. He is looking forward to making an impact with Diamond Standard Baseball this summer!
Sean is incredibly excited to be working with Diamond Standard Baseball this summer. He brings over 12 years of playing experience to the program, having competed at the AAA level with Scarborough and North York from Major Rookie through 18U. Baseball has been a central part of his life since he was five years old, and his love for the game is what ultimately led him to Diamond Standard Baseball.
Outside of baseball, Sean is currently a student at the University of Toronto. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies and playing volleyball. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for the game and looks forward to helping the next generation of players develop their skills, confidence, and love for baseball.
